An asphalt sprayer truck is a specialized tank truck equipped with an insulated container, bitumen pump, heater, and spraying system, used for spraying bitumen; it can also be defined as road construction machinery designed to spray hot bitumen, emulsified bitumen, residue oil, and other liquid bitumen.
The working principle of an asphalt sprayer truck is to use a bitumen pump to draw hot bitumen from the bitumen storage pool into the bitumen tank, or add bitumen from the tank opening; transport it to the construction site, heat the bitumen to working temperature through the heating system; by operating the electrical control system, turn on the bitumen pump and spraying valves; through bitumen pipelines, the bitumen pump sprays hot bitumen onto the road surface according to a certain spraying amount and pressure in a triple overlapping spray pattern. After the operation, the remaining bitumen in the pipe is returned to the bitumen tank through the pipeline system.
An asphalt sprayer truck consists of a bitumen tank, bitumen pump and spraying system, heating system, hydraulic system, combustion system, control system, pneumatic system, operation platform, and truck chassis.
According to the movement method, asphalt sprayer trucks can be divided into two types: towed and self-propelled:
A towed asphalt sprayer truck has both the bitumen tank and spraying system mounted on a trailer chassis, and it is operated by being towed by a tractor.
A self-propelled asphalt sprayer truck has both the bitumen tank and spraying system installed on the same truck chassis, which is the commonly used type, further divided into truck-mounted and special types.
According to the control method, asphalt sprayer trucks can be divided into ordinary type and intelligent type:
An ordinary type asphalt sprayer truck has manually adjustable bitumen spraying volumes, operating only according to preset bitumen spraying volumes and unable to automatically adjust according to road conditions.
An intelligent type asphalt sprayer truck has the spraying process controlled by a computer, which can automatically adjust the bitumen spraying volume in real time according to the user's actual working conditions to meet the construction process requirements.
